On December 26th, 2004 a 9.3 earthquake hit off the coast of Indonesia causing massive tsunamis to crash onto the coast of Thailand and 11 other countries surrounding the Indian Ocean. Rubina Wong was vacationing on Koh Phi Phi, Thailand when the tsunami hit. Rubina did not survive. A group of Rubina's family and friends have created this non-profit organization to honor Rubina, her life and her values.
Our initial goal was to raise enough money to help build a daycare in Thailand in one of the areas affected by the tsunami. This was accomplished and in 2006 a daycare was built in Lam Kaen, Thailand.
We now hold yearly events in order to raise money to aid needy children in our local community.
